Monitoring expansion modules

Greetings.

 

I would like to know if there is any way to see on the CUCM if a 8851 phone has a expansion module connected to it. As far as I know we load the configurations of the 8851 Phones ready to use the expansion modules, but unless we get direct confirmation from the installer or the final user we have no way to know which phones got the module installed or not.

 

While this is usually not a problem at all we are now presented with the need of knowing how many expansion modules are being used at the moment, as not all 8851 get installed with the module even if we launch the configuration for them to work.

I believe the module SN and load info are visible on the phones internal page if it is connected to the device, and absent if only provisioned - aside from logging on the phone . I can check that later.

You can visually observe this or automate it by polling XML data from the phone perhaps.
