I have a non-Cisco ip phone that works. After making three more new wall ports Hot with POE and VOIP, I moved the working ip phone to one of the three new switch ports. The phone powers up and displays a crc error. The Cisco 2960S port goes green, but the phone does not work.
This is a non-Cisco PBX with proprietary DHCP...
Any ideas?

Possibly cabling issue.
Try this command
=test cable tdr int
And then show cable tdr int
From the out put see if pair c is normal or open. If its open the possible a cabling issue.
It suppose to be normal.
Please rate if this helps

I get the above symptom plugging directly into the 2960S switch.
The port where i plugged into the phone was configured like this:
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
priority-queue out
mls qos trust cos
spanning-tree portfast trunk
spanning-tree bpduguard enable
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
priority-queue out
mls qos trust cos
I then changed it to the below, thinking that the portfast or bpduguard could interrupt the phone registration??
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
priority-queue out
mls qos trust cos
Any thoughts?

switchport voice vlan XXX (your voice vlan)
srr-queue bandwidth share 1 30 35 5
priority-queue out
mls qos trust device cisco-phone

auto qos voip cisco-phone
spanning-tree portfast
