Music On hold - How to change it

Hi,

I am an end-user with a problem I can't get anyone to solve.

I am in Italy, our company has bought 14 CP-6851-3PCC that works on a virtual switchboard from Vodafone.

We would like to change the music on hold, a part from a taste perspective also because is heavily distorted.

Vodafone told me that they can't do anything about it and that the music file is embedded on the phone.

I called a Cisco contact number in Italy but they redirected me to you all.

The software version I see on the phone is: sip68xx.11-3-1MES-4.loads

 

I would be very greatful if someone could help me find a solution to this.

Hi Giulio,

They probably misunderstood your reqest. They  were talking about differentiated or custom ringtone. MoH is managed by call server (their call server).

 

Please let me know if you'll solve your issue.

Thank you for your reply.

The answer I've been given by Vodafone is that as far as they know the MoH is on the phone and also that this the way the product is sold and they cannot or don't know how to change it. In the Vodafone remote switchboard control panel, there is no option to do that. The only audio files I can upload are the messages for redirect calls, welcome messages and holiday messages.

 

Do you think that it's impossible to do it?

 

We are quite concerned about it if only because we just change the whole telephone system in the office!

Hi Giulio,

Sorry for late reply.

As far as I know evry call system can manage Moh starting from basic asterik deployment.

Can you please tell me which Vodafone solution did you get and , if possible, post a screenshot of their switchboard  admin portal to give a look and understand which action they could take?

Hi Carlo,

 

The Vodafone solution is One Net Azienda, if this is what you mean. Regarding the admin page of the switchboard, they told me that is like the one I have access and that I have admin permissions. There is no paramater in any menu to change MoH but by all mean, I could send the screenshots.

 

They told me that noone can intervene at that level on the in cloud switchboard for security reason. Could that be possible?
