MWI madness - UC560/7965 handsets

Hello All,

I'm positive I've read and tried almost every recommendation on Message Wait Indicator to get it to work on my 7965 handsets with UC560.

I can leave a voicemail at the extension 210.  I can dial 399 and listen to my voicemails from extension 210. I can see the A800 in the ccsip debug being sent to 210.  I'll put this out there but surely I don't need to reboot the phone or uc560 after making the changes to resync MWI.

The entries in the service engine config match the ephone settings on the config.

I've attached:

- UC560 config

- SIP ccsip debug

- Service Module config

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Regards

David

Below is the debug after hangup of leaving voicemail message.  In bold underlined below is the MWI send "ON".  So totally confused now.  Any ideas anyone?

ok.  I think Im onto something.  In The service module the SIP gateway is showing as 30.1.1.1

ccn subsystem sip

gateway address "30.1.1.1"

end subsystem

Whereas in the 560 config I only have 10.0.0.0/8 and 192.0.0.0/8 ranges.  Where did this IP come from as I knwo I didn't enter it? and am I correct in thinking it should be 10.1.10.2 as in the interface below?  Or should it be the address of my voice vlan 90?

interface GigabitEthernet0/1/3

description Interface used to communicate with integrated service module

switchport access vlan 90

service-module ip address 10.1.10.1 255.255.255.252

service-module ip default-gateway 10.1.10.2

Can anyone confirm?

Nope still having the issue with MWI.  Is anyone able to review my config and assist?  The client is driving me nuts wanting his flashing light.

I wish I had an answer for you,  but I'm in the same boat right now....I have mostly 7945 phones connecting to a freshly installed UC560, and have no MWI on any phone.

I don't know where your 30.1.1.1 address came from...I reviewed mine and is it set to 10.1.10.2

Have you had any luck in resolving your issue?

I don't know that this will help you out or not....but in doing some guess/testing...I was able to get MWI to work with our 79xx phones when I changed MWI to Unsolicited Notify.

I used the web GUI to make the change on the CUE  (Voice Mail > Message Waiting Ind > Settings)

Then made changes via CLI on the UC560:

sip-ua

mwi-server ipv4:10.1.10.1 expires 3600 port 5060 transport udp unsolicited

Don't know if this will help you or not....just figured what looks to be a "good enough" fix for my issue.

David,

Does not look like the CUE is sending the INVTE to the UC560 for the MWI to turn on.

If you call from an IP phone to A800210, does that turn on the MWI?

You said you saw the A800 on the debugs, would that be on the attached debugs? I didn't see them.

Thanks,

Luis Ramirez.

Thanks guys, I shall test and advise on outcomes.

Dave
