No mgcp/mgcp

I have a 2811 at another location where they are getting fast busy signals.  in the past our engineer would enter a no mgcp/mgcp command to reset the gateway or something and it would correct the problem.  he left the company and left instructions to do this if it happens again.  Well it happend again but when i go into EN mode I get an invalid marker at no mGcp.

has this command changed or is there something that i am missing?

thank you,

No, that's the correct command, are you sure you're running MGCP on the router?

You have to be in global configuration mode.

  • Stop the MGCP service.

      RTR(config)#no mgcp

  • Verify that the MGCP service is stopped.

          RTR#sh mgcp | i Admin

MGCP Admin State DOWN, Oper State DOWN - Cause Code NONE

  • Restart the MGCP service with the following command:

         RTR(config)#mgcp

  • Verify that the MGCP service is active.

         RTR#sh mgcp | i Admin

MGCP Admin State ACTIVE, Oper State ACTIVE - Cause Code NONE
