Nuisance call blocking (done) now need to allow withheld numbers!

Hi Guys,

So last week I created the PTNs and CSS and TPs to block nuisance callers on my CUCM 9.1 antique.

Now I'm told that certain people can't call in, just get cut off, and those people are high profile, so have their calling number withheld for security reasons.

I guess as there is no calling number to match the call gets dropped, even though I have the [null] and [!] TPs in place.

Is there a way I can allow withheld numbers yet still block nuisance callers?

you ll need to give us a bit more info to answer your question,

what exactly did you put in place to block nuisance calls?

what are ligit calls to high profile people calling and what is their calling ID, please provide detail otherwise its a guessing game.

cheers

Re: Nuisance call blocking (done) now need to allow withheld numbers!

Here's the flow for blocking numbers

Trunk output > CSS > PTN > TP with ! and Route Next Hop By Calling Party Number ticked > CSS > PTN with 3+ x TPs:

[null] forwarded to CSS with internal numbers

[!] forwarded to CSS with internal number

[number to be blocked] with Block This Pattern ticked.

Certain people who we work with call in have their number withheld by their supplier for security reasons, so their calls arrive at CUCM with no calling party number. These calls are now rejected. I thought they would fall into the [null] TP, but they're not.

Re: Nuisance call blocking (done) now need to allow withheld numbers!

Hi There,

Do you happen to be using a SIP trunk between your VGW and CUCM? If so, you will need to apply the following normalization script to your trunk on CUCM to allow the calls through.

SCRIPT:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/legacyfs/online/attachments/document/siptrunkanonymouscalls.lua_.txt

BUGID:
https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuw06445/?referring_site=bugquickviewredir

We have run into this with SIP based VGWs in the past and the script seems to do the trick.

Hope this helps!
