One of 2 HA Unity server is not showing backup

Hi,

If i have 2 Unity Connection Servers running HA of each other, is it normal that the other one will not show backup? i have tried restarting DRF service and restarting the server which has the not responding status but still getting the same after reboot.

Status:

Local Agent is not responding. This may be due to Master or Local Agent being down.

The other has backup/schedules working properly.

Each server should be able to back itself only, unlike the CUCM where you go to Pub and you are able to backup every thing.

So if you go to DRS page for both pub and Sub in Unity Connection - you should be able to backup pub from pub and sub from sub DRS pages. Are you not able to do that?

Normally at some places on Cisco web site, they recommend to backup the Unity Connection Pub only when in clustered deployment, but still good idea to backup both individually.

Hi Mate,

Yes thats normal behavior. Unity Connection HA servers are backed up individually. Both the Pub and Sub need to have separate DRS Backups setup.

It has been like that, also refer to below:

Thanks Terry but you got me confused there.

Based on the bug link and what you said, Pub and Sub needs separate DRS Backup, then having the Not responding status on one of the servers is not a normal behavior then.

Am i missing something?

Thanks Terry. I go to DRS of each to do the backup and Pub got the status "Local Agent not responding" and no backup history and manual backup can be done.

You did answer my question though and now i will have to find out how to enable backup on Pub. Restarting DRF service and server itself like i mentioned didn't do the trick.

Cheers,

Wilmer
