I have never got chance to created any cluster with its maximum capacity. I am curious to know that what is the limitation so that only 8 subscriber or 1+7 subscriber are possible in a cluster. And what happens when someone try to create an additional node as subscriber in CUCM cluster?

I suggest you read the SRND for this topic, and its 8 servers running the CUCM service, 8 subs, if you want more, the system wont tell you anything, but this needs to be approved by Cisco to be officially supported.

As Jamie stated 8 is the max unless you obtain Cisco TAC sign off as with a "Super" cluster however 8 subs is the max but without fail-over so in a practical design the max is actual 4 subs with 4 sub acting as fail-over destination if you go with 1:1 redundancy
