Outbound Caller ID on PRI

John Huthmaker

I am using Call Manager 8.6 with local route groups.   I want to set each of our gateways to use the main number given for it's PRI for outbound calls.  Where in call manager do I set the outbound ANI when dialing out over a PRI.

Hi John.
What worked for me ,with local route group configured, was to set a 1 in calling party transorm mask in each ruote pattern I configured.
Try it and see if you have the same result.

Hey, Thanks for the response Carlo.  I tried this out and it did not work for me.  The call came out as "1" for the caller id.

I do appreciate your help.

The Calling/Called Party Information has a series of points it can be set at as the call egresses from CUCM.

  • Translation Pattern
  • Route Pattern
  • Route Group appearence on the Route List
  • Gateway/Trunk
    • Caller ID DN
    • Calling/Called Party Transformation CSS

In this case since you want to set it per-gateway/trunk you would want to use the Caller ID DN value on the MGCP PRI port. If this doesn't work verify that the Use External Phone Number Mask box is not checked on any of the first three points listed; it may override your other transforms in some cases.

Hey Jonathan,

Thank you for your response.  It was the "Caller ID DN" that fixed my problem.  I tried that last night, and it wouldnt work.  I was applying config, and resetting the gateway, and it wouldnt change anything.  So I assumed it was wrong and moved on.

Today I made the same change and did a "No MGCP", "MGCP" on the gateway.  That fixed it.  I guess it just needed a little kick in rear to make it happen.
