Pending Licenses : What is the concept behind pending licenses ?

hi,

I am seeing pending licenses in device license in call manager 8.5.1

a) How can i filter devices whose licenses are pending.

b) What is the concept behind pending licenses.

Hi Rohit,

You cannot filter the pending devices licenses.It is the total count of available Device License Units[DLU]

Once u add the IP phones as per models, pending licenses or DLUs get consumed.

   By gettign total no. of pending DLU's = some units apart form total alloted DLU's , consumed units and free units.

   What i understand is

    total alloted DLUS's =  total consumed DLU  + total free DLU + Pending DLU's.

   thus one pending licenseis as good as consuming a  license ?

   M i thinking in correct direction,if yes how can i free these pending DLU's .

Hi Rohit,

Free DLUs is same as pending DLUs once uploaded in Call manager.

Total alloted DLU sums consumed DLU+ free/pending DLUs

What is the reason behind free these pending DLUs since u have paid for it ?Once u add more phones in call manager, free/pending  DLUs convert to consumed .

I was cleaning myCUCM by removing unused MAC's ( MAC without DN's ). After deleting these unused MAC's i hev freed considerable amount of DLU's but was not able to free these pending DLU's.

Hi Rohit,

you won't be able to delete freed DLUs from Call Manager or u can delete lic file if PAK consisted of many DLUs. But I won't suggest.

May be they were ordered in excess .Next time when u order the IP phones , u can use the same DLUs for registering new phones.Do not order licenses with new phones.

No will not delete lic file. Will use pending DLU's for new set of phones.
