Resetting ID

I have recently taken a position vacated by another and in inheriting her office took her Cisco IP Phone 7911. I can use it well, but when it comes to accessing voicemail it is asking for an ID number (which my colleague does not remember). How can I change this so I can enter my own access code? I read the quick reference and online guides, but am still at a loss as to what is needed.

I assume you are using Cisco Unity. Typically, your ID is your internal phone number. Let's say your organization uses 4 digits to dial extension to extension, that 4-digit extension is typically your ID. If it's asking for your password, you will have to go to Cisco Unity Connection to reset the password. Ideally you will also need your extension which is the warm as your ID for the voicemail
