Hello all,
I am trying to download sip firmware from the cisco web site but it seem that I needs to have
-a valid Technical Support Services Agreement associated to your Cisco.com user ID.
Your Cisco Account Team if you have a direct purchase agreement with Cisco
Your Cisco Partner or Reseller
which appear that i have none for the above. any solution?
Thank you very much

Are you using CUCM to update the firmware or are you updating the firmware using your own TFTP server like solarwinds?
I believe you are using the later so make sure that your file types are correct.

Hello,
You're right, I am using solarwind as my TFTP server and the file I used is shown below:
- SIPDefault.cnf
- SIP
- xmlDefault.CNF.XML
Because the screen is hanged on the upgrading screen for quite some times, so I managed to find a forum that provide solution on how to reset to the previous image:
boot the phone and hold down the # key until the buttons cycle orange
press 3 4 6 1 6 7 2 8 5 0 * #
But these steps does not work for me and continue reading on, the person suggest to press 3491672850*# and it work for the person that posted the problem. So i perform the same steps and the phone button cycle appear red rather than orange and it black out after the cycle but the forum stated that it is normal for the black out so i waited like 10min or so the phone is still on the same state, so I unplug the cable and plug it back, the phone button blink orange and dead again. So, does it show that I've 'brick' the phone? If it so, is there solution?
Thank you

Hi!
If you are using a phone in a production enviornment then i guess you should revert it back to SCCP and then try again. I have converted a few phones to SIP and to be perfectly honest it was very difficult and time consuming and the documentation is limited on this subject.
I had to to convert a few different phone models to SIP and make them work with Avaya.
Tell me this did you make the required changes in the SEP
At times i have seen that when you open files in text format it changes the file type. But it seems you dont have this issue but you can check.

Try this link to revert back to SCCP and then go to SIP again..

H'mm - You may find that your 7970 phone needs to be at an certain firmware revision before you can install the SIP firmware.
In short, if the firmware revisions is too outdated, you may need to upgrade to an intermediate version first. I've never had to update SIP firmware but I have been caught out with SCCP updates more than once.
The release notes for the revision of firmware that you are trying to install will specify the criteria that the phone needs to meet.
