snmp configurations in voice gateway to monitor the e1 usage from solarwinds

Hi Guys,

We would like to ask if what are the snmp configurations needed to add in the voice gateway for the monitoring of e1 usage using solarwinds?

We already send the MIB/OID to the solarwinds personnel to add it on their application.

Hi,

On the router side you just need to configure SNMP host and community (for v2). For v3, you need to add additional configurtion for SNMP view.

On the solarwinds, if you are running version 10 or above, the MIBs are builtin. The solarwinds tech needs to create Universal Device Pollers to monitor the E1 usage.

I think OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.4 will do the job.

So for SNMP v2, we just need to configure snmp host and community, right. The ip-address in the snmp host is the ip address of the solarwinds? Am i correct?

How can we verify if it is v2 or v3? 

If it is v3, do you have the list of the additional configuration for the SNMP view?

V 2 or 3 is controlled by IOS config. Solarwinds support both. Just use host and community configs along with version keyword in IOS to use v2 and it will do the job.

You can google v3 config examples if you want more security snmp config
