T1 CAS to Avaya Definity G3R - CallerID/DNIS

Hello, I have an install that is coming up that will involve an integration between a Callmanager 5 system and an existing Avaya Definity G3R system. I have a 2851 as the gateway between the two systems with the intention of using T1 CAS with a H.323 config. I have read some posts regarding T1 CAS E&M Wink not supporting DNIS/CallerID information and that Feature Group D may be needed. Now these posts are mostly referencing with Telco's and not Gateway to Definity. I was wondering if I am going to need a similar configuration for my integration or will E&M Wink on both ends work just fine? The sample config document by Cisco does not mention any issues regarding DNIS but I'd like to hear from anyone who has this config in production or a similar config.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I think the basic T1 CAS protocol doesn't support sending the calling number independently from the fact you are connecting telco or a PBX.

You may want to check this with the PBX guys (if they are willing to help). Or ask them what would be the PBX setting to see calling number if they were connecting the PBXs over a leased line, and then configure the router accordingly.

I understand that there maybe license/hardware issue to have the PBX do PRi, but that would be by far the easiest way to a very complete and robust integration.
