Re: Transcoder doesn't work

Hi All,

I have a center site with CUCM 5.1 in HQ office , there has a remote site via lease line connect to HQ office , either HQ or remote have 2800 router with PVDM2 as the local PSTN gateway . now remote site ip phones using G729 communication with HQ , but remote site cannot access like software conference and CUE that in HQ , I know it need XCODE in HQ , but it seemed that the transcode doesn't work . I want know how can I do ?

I have finished below:

1. put HQ device in hq-region and hq-device pool

2. put remote device in remote-region and remote-device pool

3. config the transcode in hq voice gateway and had registered to CUCM.

4. I even setup a individual region and device pool for XCODE.

but when I input "show dspfarm all " in voice gateway when I want jion a MeetMe or voice mail pilot number , I see there no any transcode be used . if there has any misunderstanding ? please tell me why ?

Did you put this xcoder into MRG/MRGL that is referenced by HQ the conference bridge?

What does "debug sccp" reveal?

Hi Chris,

I think I have put xcoder int MRG/MRGL , below is my design

BeiJing is HQ site

XiAn is remote site

because BeiJing often take conference meeting more than 8 part, so I want use software conference that only support G711.

Does the Xcoder show refistered on CUCM?

Can you provide "sh dspfarm all" from the BeiJing GW?

When attemting the conference call can you run "debug sccp" and provide the output?

Yesterday I delete the HW conference configuration in BeiJing Voicegateway, only left transcoder.

Hi ,

I finally resolved this case, for help others , I show what I did .

1. create a region for transcoder.

2. create a device pool for transcoder

3. change the codec between HQ and transcoder-region as g711, remote and transcoder-region as g729

4. create the transcoder in voice gateway and register to CUCM

5. put the transcoder resource into transcoder-device pool.

6. use remote phone dial meetme or CUE number, show dspfarm all in voice gateway check if there havs session running.
