Transfering Cisco Licenses from CCM3.2 to CUCM7.1??

We have recently upgraded from CCM 3.2 to CUCM 7.1 and obtained a number of DLU's for the new system. Can anyone tell me if the licenses from the old CallManager can be used on the new one?? And if so how to go about it??

We have just run out of DLU's on the new system and would like to utilise what we used to have, although I understand the licensing didn't work in the same way as it does now.

Your feedback would be appreciated.

Still fairly easy to get those licenses migrated.

Reach our licensing team at licensing@cisco.com and explain them the situation and that you want to migrate those phones but there is no DMA so you want to do it manually.

You'll need the MAC from the 7.1 licensing server.

You'll get a spreadsheet you need to fill with the phones you have and this way they can generate the DLUs.

What is the upgrade path you followed to upgrade from 3.2 to 7.1 ???

Regards

We upgraded the hardware, as 7.1 runs on a Linux server, to MCS7835 and used the upgrade tool to export all the phones and devices from 3.2 to 7.1. The previous setup was single server so we are currently using CUCM Business Edition. This was a relatively easy migration as it was a like-for-like swap.

Hope this helps.
