Translation Pattern for Call Pickup

I have had a request for which I don't think is possible.

We have Call Pickup groups configured and they work as expected, but on the old analog system they had when someone wanted to pickup a call thy used to dial say *3 whereas for the call manager system you have to press the group pickup button and then dial the number or the pickup group to have the call presented on your phone. Is there any way to replicate the *3 on cucm?

Correct, in CUCM you cannot configure that kind of codes to do certain actions which are meant to be used with softkeys.
