We are facing an issue with accessing our voice mail externally :
To access the Voicemail system, from outside the office:
Dial – 123-456-7890.
ID: last 4 digit of your phone number.
Password: your voice mail password.
When we dial 7890 nternally, it asks for my voicemail password and works.
When I dial 123-456-7890 from my phone, it asks me for my ID which is xxx, then voicemail password. We receive an error stating invalid entry.
When I dial 123-456-7890 from my cell phone, it asks me for my ID which is xxxx, then voicemail password. We receive an error stating invalid entry.
Appreciate some help on this.
cisco unity connection : 6.1

I think, we have that 7 digits of the extension that one should use to login into vmail.. but wanted the confirmation on the same.

that is correct..add an alternate ext for 10 digits and it should work!!

Yes, you need to use the full length extension as the user ID.
