UC 520 Router

Hi All,

 

I have Cisco UC 520 Router in a remote site. The Flash got faulty and now i have a Replacement flash.

My question is can i replace the Faulty Flash with replacement flash and without rebooting router can i upload IOS in New Flash so that there is no business impact.  Someone told me that to detect the new flash reloading is required. If this is true then the router will go in Rom mon and i do not have any support person there who can give Console access. Please advice.

You can do a swap while it is live, it's just not a recommended procdure.  If something is accessing it or needs to like a CME MOH file, it won't play but everything should be fine.  Take the faulty one out and put the new one in.  Format, load the IOS and all other files.
