UC560 no auto attendant

Guys I'm fairly new to Cisco UC and I've been given the task of creating an Auto Attendant, the current UC560 is already in production, it runs IOS image uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.151-4.m5, CME version 8.6 and Voicemail Version 8.6.5.

If I launch a browser to its IP http://192.168.10.250/ccme.html I get the CME administrator but this does not show any auto attendant options. All I get under voicemail menu is the "message waiting server" and "pilot number"

If I try browse to the UC's IP via IE http://192.168.10.250 I get the Cisco Systems page showing the below:

"Monitor the router - HTML access to the command line

Connectivity test - ping the nameserver."

If I launch the Cisco Config Assistant and click on Auto Attendant it throws back a java.lang error.

Do I need to do anything additional to install the auto attendant feature?

Any help much apprecaited.

I should have also included that CUE is manageable via CLI. From the UC500 CLI and type

service module ism 0/0 session (or whatever you service module is called)

once you login press enter twice and it should drop you in the CUE prompt. For auto attendant I would say it is easier to manage through web interface but you could probably figure it out through CLI if needed.

This document could help you get through it in the configuring auto attendant section.

It is best to manage UC500 products with CCA found here:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/cloud-systems-management/configuration-assistant-cca/tsd-products-support-general-information.html

The voice mail is Cisco Unity Express which is managed via web browser. If you are familiar with CLI you can go to the service module interface and see what the IP address of CUE is. If not then once you launch CCA there should be a spot for interface configuration and I believe it will show in there.

Thanks Michael,

I found the IP for the service module...I didn't realise it would be different from the regular lan ip I had for the device...the problem I have now is that it's in a vlan I don't have access to remotely so I will either configure the main router to include the new vlan and allow traffic through an ACL.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link Michael, I'm now able to connect to the CUE web GUI. I do have a few more questions, see attachments.

Cisco1 - there is an option for call integration to switch from CUCME to CUCM..do I need to worry about this at all?

Cisco2 - Auto Attendant Call-in number, do I need to input the full external number here, at the moment it looks like an extension number?

Cisco3 - Currently 1000 is set to vmail, but all internal extensions are 2 digits, the phones will not accept the four digit vmail number, can I just change this here to a free 2 digit extension?

Cisco4 - This is via the CCME.html GUI, this site only has 1 UC560, 1 site..does the SIP and MWI need to be set?

Cisco5 - From the config Assistant - currently there is no direct dial plan configured, will I also need to add the external number to pass to the auto attendant here?

Cisco6 - Same as Cisco5, do I need to assign one of these trunks to go to the auto attendant?

Also, I believe this company currently has 4 external numbers, where would I see where these external numbers are converted to the internal extensions? Is there anywhere on the UC where the external numbers are actually listed? Or are they just shown as trunks?

It will probably take me a couple of days to go through the link you sent me, but if you don't mind in the meantime if you could help me with the above questions too?

Thanks

Cisco1 - CUE can be integrated with CUCME or CUCM. It is currently integrated with CUCME and should stay that way. You would only change this if you were to integrate your CUE to a CUCM.

Cisco2 - The DID would come in to the UC500 and then have a translation to the 4 digit extension. You would leave this alone

Cisco3 - If I'm not mistaken there should be a place on CCA to change the voice mail number. This would make your envelope button work and should let the phones dial the 4 digit extension. Changing it in this location will only affect the CUE side and further configuration would be needed on the UC500.

Cisco4 - I would stay away from the web interface and only use CCA. There should be an area regarding MWI in CCA.

Cisco5 - You would do translations for a PRI or ISDN circuit in this location

Cisco6 - Yes you would change the "extension" for the port to the AA and that would be your dedicated phone line for AA.

Since they have 4 POTS lines I would configure them all to point to AA. Having direct numbers in this situation would be a dedicated line for each phone. Typically this is not desired in most situations.

Thanks again for the help.
