I am trying to migrate from Unity to unified messaging system with Domino. I have a couple of doubts:
1. I am doing a fresh install of unity for integration with Domino, can i do it without being a member server in the domain?
2. Which is the easiest way of moving users from unity to unified messaging system.
Thanks in Advance

Unity must be a member server in an existing domain where the message store is installed or Unity must be the DC/GCDC in its own domain and never be installed in a workgroup.
The following document talks about these requeriments for Unity

Ans 2 have you looked at GSM tool

A good document about Unity and Domino is the Cisco Unity design Guide

Windows Domains, Domino Domains, and Server Placement
A Cisco Unity 4.0 server must run Windows 2000 Server and must be one of the following:
? A domain controller in a Windows 2000 domain
? A member server in a Windows 2000 domain
? A member server in a Windows NT domain
If the Cisco Unity server is a member server, it should reside in the same highly
available and connected network as a domain controller for that domain.
The Cisco Unity server should reside in the same highly available and connected network as
the partner Domino server and any Domino servers that home Cisco Unity subscribers, or the
customer will experience delays in message access, in directory replication, and in
directory lookups.

Guys,
Sorry to revive this old post, but I am facing the same dilema. Should Domino Servers be in the same Windows Domain as Unity server, cause it would seem that this integration does not rely on AD.
Thanks,
David

I do not believe the Unity server needs to be in the same domain as the Domino server. While the Unity server must be a domain member (either of its own domain or a multi member domain), it does not use the domain for any communication with the Domino environment. It only uses the Lotus Notes client and DUCS on the server for communication to the message store.
The server running Domino, of course, does not need to be in a domain at all.
