Hi team,
We have a 4 offices moving into one location ,the larger office have a
CCM 5.0.4 wi 300 users and 3 other office with CCME.now the CCM is end of hardware support
so i belive we could go in for new servers as set up will be new and ccme would be put into
the new CUCM as well.
Now the issue would be to reuse the licenses from the present 5.0.4 we cannot opt for
new istallation we would need to go for upgrade and to reach 8.0 version CCUM we would
need to upgarde path would be 5.0 > 5.1 > 6.1 >8.0
But after this we would need to manually detele all the informations like gateways
users externtions etc and add new informations also also CHANGE IP ADDRESS
would all of this be complicate we have about 1000 device license which we dodnot want to
lose ?
Any other way we could go about this
thanks

You should be able to migrate your licenses by reaching our licensing team (licensing@cisco)
They'll must likely ask the order on which you got the 8.X upgrade to make sure you're entitled.

So you mean to say it is not required to do buy a new server (old hardware EOF ,EOS) a installation of 5.0.4 ,dump the database into it and do a upgarde path 5.1>6.1>8.0 ?
We could buy a CUCM 8.0 and request the Licensing team to migrate the old license to new server ?
PS: we didnot buy the new server or upgrades yet !!
thanks

Assuming your server supports the version you want you can still use it. Otherwise you need HW to support the version you want.
The scenario I mentioned was using BAT to migrate info.
If you want to go all the way to 8.X by upgrading then your licenses are migrated in every step, but you will need the valid feature license to start the CUCM services.

1)Hardware is End of life
2)We can only move the ip phones ,extentions gateway and features with BAT we wouldnot be able migrate the License?
3)is there a way to use license in new version without following the upgrade path as with BAT we wouldnot be able to ?
thanks
