If I apply a CUCM patch to CUCMBE version 7 during install, does this upgrade the Unity Connection application, too? Cisco site is totally vague on how to upgrade CUCMBE. Does anyone know how to upgrade/patch CUCMBE?
Thanks!

Answer is yes, both apps upgrade at same time.
Worked with an engineer about a year ago on this.
His reply below:
Hey Kevin,
So the upgrades and installs are all from the same source ISOs as CUCM. So if you're upgrading CUCM 6.0 to 6.1 or CMBE 6.0 to 6.1 or even CUC Standalone 2.0 - 2.1 then you'll use the same upgrade. You'll notice that if you go to the CUCM upgrade or the CUC upgrade sw pages that the same files with same size are there even though CUC says version 2.1 and CUCM says version 6.1:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/unityconnection
UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.2000-3.sgn.iso_part2of2
Cisco Unity Connection 2.1(1) Part 2 of 2 (non-bootable) - For upgrade from 2.1(1) 2.1(1) 23-JAN-2008 1221413888 UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.2000-3.sgn.iso_part1of2
Cisco Unity Connection 2.1(1) Part 1 of 2 (non-bootable) - For upgrade from 2.1(1) 2.1(1) 22-JAN-2008 1221413888
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/callmgr-61
UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.2000-3.sgn.iso_part1of2
Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1(1a) part 1 of 2 (non-bootable) - For upgrade from 6.0(1) 6.1(1a) 14-JAN-2008 1221413888 UCSInstall_UCOS_6.1.1.2000-3.sgn.iso_part2of2
Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1(1a) part 2 of 2 (non-bootable) - For upgrade from 6.0(1) 6.1(1a) 14-JAN-2008 1221413888
So to recap every CUCM install or upgrade image/dvd whatever will always have CUCM/CMBE/CUC sw.
Pls let me know if this answers your question.

Thanks, this answers my question. You'd think that they would mention this on Cisco's site somewhere.
Thanks again,
Mike

I understand it's the same file for the upgrade.
But do we have to upgrade CUCM and Unity, or if we upgrade the CUCM it's gona upgrade the unity as well

One upgrade does them both on CUCMBE.
