use of Sub system number in SS7 network

    Hi,

I would like to know the use of SSN in SS7 network.

Also, I have a ICM prerouting scenario, I need to configure my PGW and ICM NIC with a SSN. Please let me know what value i should use in SSN field.

Can you post an example?     I have not seen an example of this.   I could mistaken, but I dont think CUCM or gateway will look at this level of the SS7 to handle routing.  I believe its only looking at the transport layers to setup the call and monitor it.  The actual digits dialed or routed happen at a different level.  (all though I could be off on this)

Sorry, I just noticed the PGW.....  I have not worked with this device....  hence my reply probably does not make sense.

Hopefully someone has answers for you.

Hi,

Here is the topology,

PGW<-------->ITP<----------->ICM NIC

PGW is connected to cisco ITP (2811 router with special ITP image) via ethernet. ITP is conncted to ICM NIC using V.35 cable. both talk traditional SS7.

From my understanding, PGW supports IN Service with SSN configuration
