Hi all,
Can anyone confirm what differences there are between 7942 and 7942G handsets, particularly in terms of Built-in-Bridge functionality?
We are in the process of implementing a new voice call recording solution and have a mixture of Cisco handsets. The call recording vendor is saying that our 7942G handsets are not supported with their product, whereas the 7942 handsets are supported. Can anyone explain why - I thought the 7942G was a later/enhanced version of the 7942?
Similarly they are saying that our 7941G handsets are not supported with their product but 7941 handsets are supported...
I've looked at the relevant Data Sheets etc but cannot see any specific mention of differences which would make 7941/7942 supported but 7941G/7942G unsupported.
Any help gratefully received!

Hi Simon,
The "G" only denotes Global which includes a language sticker set for the keys rather than printing directly on the keys themselves. The functionality of the sets is exactly the same - no difference. This was more of a Marketing change vs a technical change in the designations.
Cheers!

Hi Rob,
That's great - thank you. I suspected that was the case from what I could find via Google but wanted a definitive answer from an expert in this field. Looking at your credentials you definitely qualify as an expert so your answer gives me confidence to go back to our vendor armed with this information.
Many thanks!
Simon
