TCS terminal capability set - which lists capabilities supported (codecs & dtmf methods). Both endpoints provides the capabilities they support for the call

OLC open logical channel - which asks the endpoint to open a port for media communication

Endpoint responds with a OLC ACK message providing the RTP port number it has opened for communication for that call

MSD is master slave determination between the endpoints

Rajan thanks for your reply,

In TCS,What is capabilites meant ?

MSD, On what basis this is determined

Codec and Ip address negotation, Are these comes under TCS?

I am new to this. Please consider, though it is quite old

Capabilties includes codecs and dtmf methods not IP address

MSD is explained well in the below discussion:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12206826/master-slave-determination-cucm

http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-rfced-info-lantz-00

Below link shows how the call flow looks like:

Hi Manzoor,

In addition to the nice info provided by Rajan you may check the following doc which shows how to track H225 and H245 messages in a callmanager trace and how these messages look like
