Hi,
Recently i could implement the Busy features for my IP Phones when the phones are busy, but what i have found is that, when the phone is disconnected with some reason and when the person dials it shows the phone as Busy.
Is there a mechanism to change this like "Disconnected" or some other message when the phone are disconnected.
Need Help....

I am using CME and i have IP Phones (6921, 7965, 7906) currently running. To describe the problem, let say Phone A is been spoilt with some reason and its not functional. Now other person dials to that phone and when is sees as "Busy" then i might think that the phone is busy. So in order to clear this misunderstanding, i want to have like if the phone is not active or not connected to network or has got damanged and when the person dials to that IP Phone they he should see the message is "disconnected" not "Busy".
So i want to ask, it there any mechanism to make in the CCME router?
Thanks

Hi
This is default behaviour of CME and we have raised the bug to resolve this enhancement. This feature might come in future CME release.

This happens because the disconnect reason is '17' (meaning: user busy) even when phone is unregistered.
When the phone is unregistered and the number is not assigned to any otherdevice, there is no route to destination, so it is perfectly OK for the caller to get the busy signal. Now, the easiest way to resolve this is to enable CFB on this number, however when the called party is indeed busy, the call can will be forwarded to voice mail as well. The configuration is pretty straightforward, but let me put an example here for clarity:
ephone-dn 23 dual-line
number 9248
call-forward busy 9399
