XMLdefault.cnf. or SIPdefault.cnf.xml in 7900 phones?

Which file is used for SIP deployments?   Why are some files XML and others TXT?

XMLDefault.cnf.xml is used by Cisco 79XX SIP Phone. Below links for your reference.

Which file is used for SIP deployments?

Depends what your deployment is.  Are you using Cisco CallManager?
