I have an 867-VAE on a VDSL line currently configured and working for IPv4. Below is the current config for the Dialer1 interface
interface Dialer1 description PPPoE DSL dialler for VDSL line mtu 1492 ip address negotiated no ip redirects no ip unreachables no ip proxy-arp ip nbar protocol-discovery ip nat outside ip virtual-reassembly in encapsulation ppp ip tcp adjust-mss 1452 dialer pool 1 dialer idle-timeout 0 dialer-group 1 keepalive 30 ppp authentication chap callin ppp chap hostname ME@ISP ppp chap password 0 xxx ppp ipcp address accept no cdp enable
Im just starting to experiment with IPv6 and have discovered my ISP offers a /56 prefix delegated address using DHCP for IPv6 and I am trying to configure the router to obtain one dual stack with the IPv4.
I added the following lines to the Dialer1 config but having done a shut/no shut on it its not getting an IPv6 address.
ipv6 address dhcp ipv6 enable
I also put ipv6 unicast-routing in the global config
Can someone please help me figure out what I;ve omitted/done wrong. The Dialer1 interface has a link local address but not a global unicast.
