IPv6 HSRP

I'm running IOS

adventerprisek9.03.04.00.S.151-3.S.bin

Router1(config-subif)#standby 1 ipv6 ?

X:X:X:X::X  IPv6 link-local address

autoconfig  Obtain address using autoconfiguration

I tried to enable Global unicat as an IPv6 address and unfortunately I dont have that option but according to  Cisco's site I should be able to set the global unicast as an HSRP address. Any reasons why?

Hi George,

HSRP IPv6 global address is not supported yet in this branch. Please work with your local account team for road-map information

From the link below, it says the HSRP IPv6 global address is supported since SXI4 release?

But HSRP IPv6 Object tracking speically for routing etc like IPv4 not yet supported.

One needs to looks alternate solution like IPv6 over IPv4 Tunnel etc to track etc.

I also found that there is no near future plan to support IPv6 object tracking - routing. Any reason ?
