ME3600 CoPP

Hello All,

Can anybody tell me what i'm doing wrong, please ?

ME3600-1#

ME3600-1(config-cp)#service-policy input CoPP

IP match not supported for Control Plane policy

QoS: Configuration failed.  Invalid class params

QoS: Control plane policy invalid

error: failed to install policy map CoPP

in ME3x00 Configuration Guide version 15.3.1

"

When defining the packet classification criteria, follow these guidelines and restrictions:

•     To avoid matching the filtering and policing that are configured in a subsequent class, configure

policing in each class. CoPP does not apply the filtering in a class that does not contain a police

command. A class without a police command matches no traffic.

•     The ACLs used for classification are QoS ACLs. The supported QoS ACLs are IP standard,

extended, and named.

•     These are the only match types supported:

–  ip precedence

–  ip dscp

–  access-group

•     Only IP ACLs are supported in hardware.

"

Thanks !

David

Hi David,

in there as well they say:

To modify the rates for input and output policies show in Options for Input and Output Policies

use the platform qos policer cpu queue queue-num cir | cb command.

as for the plans, it is not on the roadmap yet.

Regards,

Ivan

Hi David,

in here they say:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/metro/me3600x_3800x/software/release/15.2_2_S/configuration/guide/swcopp.html#wp1141836

Note Only STP MAC based classification is supported on the switch.

checking the internal KB it seems to be the case.

Ivan

Hello Ivan,

If only MAC based classification is supported .. it is worthless to configure CoPP !! The documentation guide it's misleading because it says that IP ACLs are supported !! Do you know when does it begins to be supported ?

Thanks!

David

Thanks Ivan. I completely missed it. It should be enough.
