Need 3+ ES Ports

Hello

We have a network consisting of a ring of ME3750s, and are looking at deploying MPLS using the ES ports. However, one of the switches has three connections in use (with another ME3750 connecting to the core,) so we need to look at alternatives.

So far we have considered

1) Moving a circuit so that only 2x ES ports would be required (although this will be done in the future.)

2) Using a 7200 with NPE-G2

3) Swapping the ME3750 for a different ME model

Does the ME4900 have 4x ES ports? Could not see this referenced on any literature.

Is the 7200 a viable option? (it is possible that this will be deployed at various places to overcome a similar situation we may have elsewhere due to the lead time constraints on circuits.)

Or is there a better alternative switch model option?

- the ME4900 does not have ES ports as it does not even support MPLS  (it is considered a metro platform as it can do QinQ).

- Yes, a 7200 can be a viable option..it is entirely a design decision.

- You might consider ME3600X or ME3800X as alternatives.

In any case it is better if you get in touch with your Account Team for similar requests.
