bridge-domain vs bre-connect

Note: I didn't find an ATM Forum.

- What will be the difference between bridge-domain and bre-connect?

- Which one should be pursued for the migration path of ATM PVCs to VLANs at MetroEthernet?

- Which will be easier for the integration of ATM internetworking over MPLS to ME?

If the design does not necessarily include a Cisco CPE which can support bridge encapsulation over the ATM PVC ("atm route-bridge ip") in that case you can use "bridge-domain" rather than "bre-connect". If the service design includes non-Cisco DSL CPEs which do not support bridge encapsulation in that case you have to use "bre-connect". In any case, Cisco or non-Cisco, the CPE is a ROUTER meaning it has a LAN IP address and a WAN (DSL) IP address. Following links may help you
