As per Feature navigator ATOM(Martini) is supported, but personally i never tested it on ISR G2.

Hi

Personally i have not tested the L2MPLS on 3945 but have tested on 7204.

As Yasir has confirmed that ATOM is support , Then i think 3945 should support L2tpv3.

And 7204 will support L2tpv3 & L2MPLS both but you need to check the IOS becasue in 7200 some IOS will not give you all feature of L2 circuits.

first of all, thx for all of ur guys warmly explain.

but as far i as know, both of Martini and Kompella are draft VPLS standard, the distinction tween them that is the former is Cisco standard, the later is Juniper. you guys can refer the following website link:

http://ciscotips.wordpress.com/category/bgp/

Martini draft was named after a former Cisco employee Luca Martini. Martini draft uses LDP as signalling to setup L2VPN over MPLS backbone. The tradeoff of this draft was auto-discovery.

Kompella draft on the other hand uses BGP for both signalling and auto-discovery to establish fully-meshed pseudo wires (multipoint). Kompella-draft is named after author Keerti Kompella (Juniper Employee).

Meanwhile, snapshoot as below:

Since that VPLS cannot be supported on both new 3945 isr routers and 7200 series, as my judgment, Martini and Kompella also cannot be suppported on these 2 devices.

for my opinion, join me welcome in participate in discussing the topic. and then, warmly unveiled ur guys opinions and recommendations.

Tony,

We should distinguish between VPLS and L2VPN as both are two different terms.

Compella and Martinin are draft of L2VPN and not VPLS. Martinin uuses LDP signaling for L2VPN while Compella uses BGP protocl. they dont refer and they are not VPLS standards.

So as indicated, both hardwares should support Compella and Martinin draft which is L2VPN standard and NOT VPLS.

Hi Sobair:

R u sure for ur opinion???? you know, it's very significant cause if these 2 protocols indeed are draft L2VPN, rather than VPLS standard.  could i regard as both 2 protocols can be supported on 39 and 72 routers??? because as u metioned, both devices can deploye L2VPN standard.

thx & b.rgs

Hi Tony,

Yes, L2VPN should be supported by both Platforms ISR 3945 G2 and 7204,  However, VPLS is not supported.
