Hi,
I have a mpls core running ipv4 as well as ipv6 but when i see the forwading table i am not able to see labels for ipv6. Does i need to do changes in my ldp configurtion ? does a particular ios is needed for this (using 7200 npe and 7609 withsup320). I am using ospf version2 for ipv4 routes and v3 for my ipv6 routes in my backbone.
Any help will be appreciated .
Regards

Hi Amit,
I believe currently, LDP doesnt support label generation for IPV6 routes.
6PE method generated a Aggregate IPV6 label at the edge and forms reachability using dual stack across the core and by using labels to reach the aggregate by using the IPV4 next-hop label.
Moving more towards IPV6 compatibility the 6VPE has been recently incorpoarted into 12.2(33)SRA. I also see this command in 12.4T.
But again till we have VRF support for IPV6, I dont see how can we immediately utilize this address-family vpnv6 feature.
Also you may want to check with your local SE regarding the road map for IPV6 feature incorporation into IOS.
HTH-Cheers,
Swaroop
