Hi support,

I have question regarding mpls TE tunnel. Can I make tunnel between two different ospf areas? If yes, then it will be dynamic or explicit??

If explicit then which routers of different areas will be included in this TE tunnel???

Hello AbuRafay63,

Yes, you can implement Inter-Area MPLS TE tunnels. The restrictions with Inter-Area TE tunnels is that we must use an explicit path and specify our OSPF ASBRs as the next hops using the loose option.

The ASBRs are then used as trusted exit points out towards the next area.

You can find some more information as well as restrictions for Inter-Area TE tunnels:
