MPLS VFI forwarding

I've set up the following lab. The "customers", most of the purple devices have no problem with connectivity at layer 2 or 3 except R16 and R19.

The problem between S20 and R6/R12, as if I get R12/R6 to switch to their backup xconnect neighbours (Device 3) it works fine, R16 and R19 find the other customers.

Routers 12 and 6 are not capable of manual VFI's thus have been xconnected to S20 with a backup to Device 3.

S20 is a 6500 running ADVENTERPRISEK9 12.2(33)SXI6

Devices 1-3 are ASR 920's

R12 and R6 both 2811 running adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T9

Any ideas greatly appreciated

Here is the VFI debug if that might help anyone as I bring the fa1/1 interface on the S20 up.

I've also slightly modified the network to simplify it a little.

When I run the same debug commands on the ASR I get no output.

I thought, I'd fixed it......

I did find

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/15-0SY/configuration/guide/15_0_sy_swcg/vpls.html

But I tried both a trunk and access port across to S2 from S20 with no luck. As soon as that VFI on S20 comes up devices R15, 16, 19 all drop their connections.

I'm not sure if its a consequence or cause but none of the MPLS L2 VC's leaving S20 have any outgoing packets.
