Hi all,
This is probably a very easy question to answer but I'm sat here confusing myself!
If you have a single link from the PE box to the CE box but this one customer will need different VRFs per department, what would be the best way of setting this up?
Thanks,
Adam

Vrf-lite on the CE, but you need to evaluate the linke between the PE - CE if you can do that (ex. if ethernet, can you use 802.1Q, or serial - use frame-relay PVCs.

Thanks for the reply. The link is Ethernet so dot1q will be fine.
So if I had for example a sales and marketing division would I just create a sales and marketing vlan on the CE box and set the appropriate dot1q tags on sub-interfaces on the PE?
Or would I create the VRFs on the CE?
Thanks

Hi Adam,
if you're going for a true VRF-lite setup, which will benefit from MPLS VPN service in the end, then the answer is yes, you would need to have VRFs configured on a CE device and then assign interfaces appropriately.
