RTP header compression over MPLS link

We have a situation where a VoIP connection fails when RTP header compression is turned on over a L3 MPLS link. The same VoIP connection works if put over a clear channel link.

Does MPLS support RTP header compression? Does it have to be configured differently for makeing it work over an MPLS link?

cRTP over MPLS L3 link is not supported.

Hope this helps,

Hritter, Thanks for the response. Need calrification on this. Typically cRTP is done at the CPE end and if this just modifies the voice pay-load, why should it be not supported over an MPLS Link. As far as I understand, the payload is not modified in anyway when transporting an IP packet over MPLS link.

cRTP compresses the IP/UDP/RTP headers, not the payload

BTW: cRTP between the CE and PE is supported.
