Hello everyone,

I am wondering if there is a way to check MAC addresses for a specific service instance on an interface in Cisco 7606.

I have been checking through a lot of documentation but I'm not able to find anything.
Is there any way you can disable learning MACs and how would I check?

For example -

show ethernet service instance id 960 interface tenGigabitEthernet 12/4 detail
Load for five secs: 34%/5%; one minute: 20%; five minutes: 20%
Time source is NTP, 19:52:45.350 UTC Sat Dec 21 2024

Service Instance ID: 960
Description: null:null
Associated Interface: TenGigabitEthernet12/4
Associated EVC:
L2protocol drop cdp stp vtp dtp pagp dot1x lacp
CE-Vlans:
Encapsulation: dot1q 1199 vlan protocol type 0x8100 second-dot1q 310 vlan protocol type 0x8100
Rewrite: ingress tag pop 2 symmetric
Interface Dot1q Tunnel Ethertype: 0x8100
State: Up
EFP Statistics:

@omer988

 I dont believe there will be  different MAC for every instance.

Hello Flavio, thank you for your response.
On these cases, we're providing layer 2 services for different carriers.
Whenever we have switches on the path, we can check for mac as troubleshooting to see if we see two-way mac addresses. Hopefully you can understand my scenario better.

@omer988

 Understood.

Did you check on the Mac address table of the device?

If you check this guide, at the end of it, it show the command  'show mac address-table ' to verify the mac address dynamically learned or statically configured

I start study L2VPN these months but what is important is Mac is add in control plane  not data plane

I.e. show mac (data plane) not show mac of CE

What L2VPN you use ?

MHM

In my case, we're using Carrier <> 7606 <MPLS> 7606 <> customer.
What I'm looking for is the MAC's learned on the 7606 facing the carrier ( that are built with service instances ).

Can I see config of l2vpn.

Thanks

MHM
