ACS 5.3 and TACACS to NAM2

Configured NAM2 for TACACS and added to ACS. ACS monitoring log shows that it successfully passes TACACS - all good. NAM says username/password incorrect. Do I need to add custom attributes for a NAM? There are no roles or anything. NAM is on 5.1(2) Patch 4
