ACS V4.1 and VPN 3005 Concentrator Authentication Issue

We have a VPN 3005 Concentrator and are having an issue with an ACS V4.1 server authenticating the VPN concentrator. The concentrator authenticates with an ACS V3.3 server just fine. When the ACS V4.1 server is configured just like the ACS V3.3 server, the ACS V4.1 server claims the VPN concentrator is an unknown NAS, whereas the ACS V3.3 server properly and successfully authenticates the VPN concentrator.

Has anyone had a similar issue with ACS V4.1, was there a resolution, and if so, what was the resolution? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

This error could be because of 2 reasons:

- The ip-address of the AAA client is not same as configured in the Network configuration in ACS (check the ip-address you get for the client in failed attempts with the one configured under AAA clients in ACS for the VPN Concentrator)

- The “ authenticate using “ under Network configuration for the AAA client is not same as the protocol configured on the AAA device.
