Team, I have a virtual ISE (OVA extra small) version 3.3 patch 2 where the Application Server is stuck in "initializing", the strange thing is that it does operate and can be viewed through the GUI.
I have performed the stop, start, restart procedure but it cannot change to "running".
Has it happened to you?

I finally found the solution with TAC support, the problem is because Esxi version 7.0.0 is not compatible with ISE 3.3, you must use Esxi version 7.0.3 onwards.

Extra Small OVA for eval? Or as a PSN? Do you have proper forward and reverse DNS records created? Was this working before? Snapshots disabled? Did you patch from CLI?

Extra Small but I have licenses (I haven't registered it yet)
1 node standalone
Change Esxi from version 8 to 7.0, In 8 it worked without problems
Snapshots disabled
Patch installed from GUI, even with the Application Server in initializing state

Extra Small is NOT supported for standalone. PSN only is supported for Extra Small. You need to redeploy as a small VM. Also how did you install the patch from the GUI if the application server was still initializing?

Thanks for the information, I'm going to try the Small version.
Previously in Esxi 8 I installed the "Eval" ISE, the "Extra Small" had not been installed.
I installed patch 2 from the GUI even when it was in the "initializing" state, that is very strange, I had never seen it before, I leave a screenshot. I even enabled TACACs but the behavior was strange since no information was displayed on the dashboards.
I do the deployment and report the results.

I installed the Small version and it has the same symptom, the Application Server is in the initialization state but it allows you to enter the GUI and configure, it enables the TACACs service and it works, I leave screenshots.
I will review with another version of esxi in the development environment.

Something isn't right here, I would suggest a TAC case. You are using the OVA correct? Also why Patch 2 and not Patch 3?
