Cisco ACS 5.4 failed to join primary instance.

Hi,

Did anyone encountered this before when trying to join the secondary instance to the primary?

The same version both the box is running.

Please help.

Do we have more than 1 interface configured on primary ACS?

Hi,no. Only one interface configured on the primary instance.

Can you please provide me management level debugs:

Here are the steps:

acs/acsadmin# acs-config

Escape character is CNTL/D.

Username: xxxx ( GUI ADMIN USERNAME)

Password: xxxx ( GUI ADMIN PASSWORD)

acs/acsadmin(config-acs)# debug-log mgmt level debug

Exit

Attempt to register the secondary server again.

Show acs-logs filename ACSManagement.log

Note: Once you collect the above fine. Turn off the mgmt logs with this command

           debug-log mgmt level warn

Save complete output of the ACSManagement.log in a text file and attach to your next post when possible.

Is there a firewall between the two ACS appliances? Also are you able to resolve dns in both directions, primary to secondary and secondary to primary?
