Cisco ISE 1.2 Distributed Deployment

Hi,

We have moved to a new stand alone ISE server with version 2.1 and decommisioned two servers with version 1.2 (clustered).one of the decommisioned servers is a 3495 appliance and we would like to have a fresh install of version 2.1 on it then configure it on a distributed deployment with the new ISE server.

do we have to de-register first the 3495 from its cluster before performing a fresh install and join it to a new cluster or it doesn't matter?

Thanks.

It is always best practice to de-register the node before removing it from the deployment. With that said, if the 1.2 deployment will be going away then you are probably OK not doing it but it will honestly take you just a few extra mins to complete so why not do it :)
