CSCuw57593 on ISE 1.4 & WLC 7.5.102.0

Hello,

We are hitting bug CSCuw57593:

Symptom:
When trying to go through BYOD flow using embedded mini browsers, the client get an error "unsupported browser".

Conditions:
ISE 1.4, iOS 8 and later

Workaround:
manually launch safari of other browser and go through the process

We tried to bypass the captive portal with "config network web-auth captive-bypass enable" on the WLC, reloaded it, but the mini pop-up still pops up =(.

Is this behavior expected? The bug info is kinda short. Is there any other way to get rid of the Captive Network Assistant?

Hi Pamela-

I believe you are hitting the following bug:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuj18674

Upgrading to a newer version of code on your WLC should fix your problem.

Also, please note that v 7.5 has been deferred by Cisco due to severe issues, thus it is recommended that you upgrade from that version.

The current recommended versions are:

7.4.140.0(MD)
8.0.133.0(ED)

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282600534&softwareid=280926587&release=7.4.140.0&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=MD&reltype=latest

I hope this helps!

We upgraded to  8.1.101, and indeed fixed the captive-bypass behavior. Thanks a bunch!

Fantastic! Glad the issue was resolved! :)
