ISE Certificate Renewal Error in Root Cert

We have ISE version 1.3.0.876. We are trying to update the certification for EAP authorization of wireless clients. We have setup a temporary SSID that references the ISE device with the new cert. We get the following error when new client authenticate to the network:

The valid cert expires on January 1, 2017.

Did you check if you have complete chain on certs in terms of intermediate and root CA in trusted and intermediate list of clients.

The moment we start trusting the server certificate, will not get this warning.
