SSH with TACACs

Am I right in thinking that unless my switches are running a cypto image, SSH cannot be used to connect to them for management? I want to use SSH on my devices and authenticate against my TACACs server, but I guess this is only possible if I have crypto IOS?

Your understanding of the issue is absolutely correct.

The Cisco IOS image used must be a  k9(crypto) image       in order to support SSH.

Once you are done with enabling ssh, you can try to configure tacacs on IOS
