In LMS stacked switches appears not like it is installed in the rack which makes confilict. The up on of the three stacked switches appears in the middel. How to control the units display to reflect the phisical installation? If I reconfigure the switches priority and delet them from LMS then discover it again, does it solve?

That can be tricky to make the network management system's view match the physical installation. If you don't do it at the outset (using priorities as you note is one way), it can be very problematic to correct later. Assuming you have individualized port configurations, once they start getting their respective configs, they will do so based on the syntax and context of where that switch is in the stack - e.g., interface Gi1/0/1 being on switch #1 (the stack master).

If it's really important to you, set uo the switches thus from the outset. One alternative that is often easier is just to put labels on the physical switches denoting their stack member number.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

We solved it for one stack by deleting the configuration, then follw up next steps (which I got from another discussion (How to stack 2 3750 switches?). We will test it with another stack to confirm that it is solved.

1.  Power up the switch master (ONLY!);

2.   Attach the stacking cable to the rest of the members;

3.  Power up the members ONE-AT-A-TIME and based on the order of your choice.

Example, if switch 2 is the 2nd switch, then power this switch after the master has been powered up and stacking cable has been applied.  This is followed by switch 3, switch 4, etc.

Rules-of-the-Thumb:

1.  Ensure all switches are running the same IOS version, same Feature Set (example IP Base);

2.  Once all switches are up, ensure you enable "switch n priority XX";
