I am looking at the power specs for a 3945 gateway it shows 540watts is that per power supply or for the unit.  the 3945 gateway and 7845 server both have 2 power cords so just need to know if the specs are for the unit or per power cord/supply.thanks.

In dual power supply units typically the power specification is for the entire unit. While the two PS's will share the load, both the primary and backup power circuit should be spec'd to handle the enintre load as that is the requirement in the event of the failure of one of the power supplies or AC circuits.
